Empowering vulnerable families through small business support — setting up micro-shops and livelihood kits for sustainable income.
Emergency aid addresses immediate need. Sustainable livelihoods end the cycle of dependence. AGHE Pakistan's Shop & Livelihood Support program takes the longer view — helping vulnerable families establish their own micro-businesses so they can support themselves with dignity. We provide start-up capital, stock, and basic business equipment to pre-screened families. Common projects include small grocery shops, sewing and tailoring kits for women, carpentry tool sets, and mobile phone repair setups. Each livelihood kit is matched to the skills and context of the recipient. Follow-up visits at 3 and 6 months verify that the business is operational and the family is progressing toward financial independence. Donor reports include these follow-up findings. A one-time investment of PKR 15,000–25,000 can permanently change a family's economic trajectory.
